Will the Titans Gain More Media Attention After their 2020 Playoff Run?

It's no secret that the Tennesee Titans have been overlooked by national media outlets countless times over the years. Organizations such as NFL Network and ESPN have often neglected to give the franchise a fair amount of the spotlight. For instance, if you watch this NFL Playoff 2020 commercial, you'll notice that Titans two-toned blue only appears once throughout the clip for only about a second towards the very end. To put things in perspective, the Ravens franchise (including players, fans, and its logo) racked up four scenes in this commercial alone.

Of course, large-market teams such as the Ravens and the 49ers usually gain much more national exposure than small-market teams such as the Titans and the Chargers. Gridiron Heights even poked fun at Tennesee's lack of memorability with one of its episodes in 2018 by having the slogan "Remember the Titans" as a central focus in the cartoon.

Yet, those who bleed two-toned blue have not shied away from the conversation. For years, both Titans fans and players alike have been demanding respect from the media. Taylor Lewan, an outspoken Titans left tackle, insisted that the team is often forgotten by major networks in this 2018 interview.

Many argue that the Titans have not been a buzz-worthy team since the days of Eddie George and Steve McNair. However, after this past season's run, many fans are hopeful the team will get the respect it deserves. Even though this may be the case, I believe that there is still a large chance that the media will still not give the team the light of day. Due to the franchise's small-market structure, the NFL is less likely to be interested in promoting it no matter how well the team seems to be doing.
