To be a true sports fan is to support your team through the good times and the bad. However, Titans fans seem to have trouble doing this. Low game attendance during losing streaks seems to be a reoccurring issue for the franchise. During week 5, Bills fans overran Nissan stadium. In fact, it looked as if the 2-2 Tennessee Titans were playing an away game on their own turf. So, why does this tend to happen? Long story short, winning counts. Nashville itself is a destination city, and when the team isn't doing well fans don't want to show their support. According to A to Z Sports Nashville, NFL buffs from all over are flocking to visit, and Titans fans know about this demand. Thus, Nashville residents end up selling their tickets to eager away fans.

Once the team gained momentum this year, fans started to show up. Winning may be the simplest way for the franchise to encourage attendance. However, teams such as the Bills and the Browns experience high attendance even during losing streaks. A to Z Sports's Zach Bingham thinks that marketing plays a huge factor in this; the product that these organizations put out to their consumers is captivating, and fans end up being in it for the long haul. Additionally, cities such as Cleaveland and Buffalo have a lot less to do, while cities such as Nashville provide a wide range of activities. Teams housed in destination towns such as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Titans have to compete with the array of fun things to do that their cities have to offer. If you're visiting Buffalo, however, you go to a Bills game, period. A huge part of the city's identity is centered around the Bills. Moving forward, the Titans franchise could benefit from a bit of rebranding to amplify the team's influence within the city of Nashville.
